CSRA Rush Soccer Club's

Inaugural 2022 Fall Season recap

CSRA Rush was officially approved to operate as a youth soccer club, held their very first tryouts in June 2022, and began their journey with 7 teams for the Fall 2022 soccer season. A very audacious start to say the least!

We successfully held our very first Summer Soccer Camp, as well as, a six week summer Futsal series, for players to continue to build on their love for the beautiful game. We also hosted our “Sizing and Signing Day” for all of the players to come and get sized for their new training and match kits. In addition to that, they also signed their letters of commitment to our club.

All of our teams participated in two round robin days with our sister club Union Rush in Atlanta and local friends Aiken FC, plus they played in the Steamers FC tournament, and participated in a three day preseason mini camp, all before their first regular season league match even took place.

We went on to perform fantastically throughout the entire fall season in the Carolina Champions League, with three of our teams finishing in the top half of their divisions, and our 2009 Boys team promoting to the top flight division for the Spring.

Our 2009 girls took first place in the league Knockout Cup, with 6 of our players for all of our teams making the all tournament team, and four of them with tournament MVP honors!

The 2009 Boys and 2008 Girls teams also took home their very first hardware for the club, by winning the Mr. BBQ NC Rush Fall Classic. Each team averaged a minimum of 22 matches total in the Fall 2022 season.

During the fall season, we also successfully launched and completed our 6 week Friday Night Finishing program, which gave all of the players the opportunity to solely focus on the goal scoring phase of the game.

Our CSRA Rush Select program was a huge success with 16 players being chosen to participate in Rush Regional & National Select tournaments, as well as, participating in USYS’ E64 National League, through our Select program opportunities.

Three of those players were offered the opportunity to attend IRC, which is Rush’s International tournament in Tampa, Fla., with one of them Aaliyah Silver, making the National team for the 2008 Girls and will be traveling to Arizona for the PDT and to Spain in April for 10 days. One other of our top players Kaeden Wiggins was invited into a residential camp to trial with Panama’s U17’s National team, and was just called back for a closed trail with the Charleston Battery’s USL team.

There were 34 players that joined our College Advisory Program, with two of our teams playing in the Savannah Adidas Showcase, and the 2007/06 Boys taking second place. We’ve also had another 19 players be selected to guest play with the Rush Select teams and the CAP Select teams in College showcases around the U.S. This past weekend six of our players performed in front of many college coaches in Gatlinburg, TN. This is a very important program for us as a club, as it gives our players the opportunity to really discover themselves as players and people, giving them the confidence to go for their dream to play in college.

We also launched our Jr. Academy program this past fall with a partnership with North Augusta Recreational program, taking five all star teams to Columbia for the Coerver 5v5 Cup tournament. This is a fantastic development for us, for the future of the club, and the game overall here in the CSRA! For us to continue to grow as a club, it’s vitally important for us to be working with and identifying the local players from the U8-U10 age groups, and giving them the same opportunity to participate in the club the same as the older age groups. Jessica Lane our Jr. Academy Dir. has done a fantastic job with getting this program off of the grounds.

A huge shoutout to all of our most valued community members who have stayed the course with us and are making it happen everyday on our behalf. Our Head and Assistant coaches, team managers, parent volunteers, BOD’s, and Registrar are the best of the best and none of this over the last 6 + months is possible without you, your hard work, and dedication to our cause! Also a huge thank you to our good friends at Aiken FC, North Augusta Parks & Recreation, City of Grovetown/Liberty Park, and Richmond County Schools for their belief and support of our mission here locally.

If our short term success in any indication of our future growth and development, then the future is very bright for all of us.

Regards,

CSRA Rush Staff
